ER Individual Project #2 : A DIFFERENT ENDING

Hi everyone!!👋Welcome back to my blog, in this post I'll tell you a story that I've read on an English e-reader, and I will make a different ending for the story. Without any further do, let's get started!!!

I choose a story entitled "The Snow Goose" and it is B1 level (pre-intermediate). It is written by Paul Gallico. And it consists of 19 pages with a total of 5166 words. Here the link if you want to read it, https://english-e-reader.net/book/the-snow-goose-gallico-paul.

It tells the story of Philip Rhayader, he lived alone in an abandoned lighthouse in The Great Mars of The Essex. He was an artist, he painted pictures of the birds and the marsh. He always went to the village to buy food and others, but the villagers wouldn't come to him, they were afraid of him because he looked strange. He was a hunchback. His left arm was weak and thin and twisted, and his left hand looked like a bird's foot. Philip didn't hate all the people who hated him because his heart was full of love. One day in November, there was a young girl came to the lighthouse, she brought a snow goose on her arm and the snow goose was hurt, there was blood on its feather. Philip who saw the girl immediately brought the goose inside his house, and he treated the goose. Her name was Fritha, she lived with the fishing people in the village. Time passed, Fritha more often came to the lighthouse because the snow goose which she saved always came to the lighthouse. Philip and Friha became more familiar with each other, and Fritha didn't afraid of Philip again. One year after that, in the spring when the second world war happened, Fritha came to the lighthouse. Philip who saw Fritha shocked because Fritha became a beautiful girl not ugly as before. Every time Fritha came to Philip, he always happy and he like when Fritha visited him, he immediately knew that he loved Fritha but he couldn't tell his feeling. In the spring of 1940, Fritha visited Philip to saw the snow goose but when she arrived there she looked Philip was putting some goods to his sailboat. Philip was going on a little journey, he wanted to help the British soldiers in the Dunkirk. Fritha was sad and cried when she heard about that, she wanted to follow him but Philip forbade her, and while Philip went away the snow goose followed him.

Time went by, after Philip went to France, Fritha still waited for Philip and she stayed at the lighthouse. One day, she was standing on the door and she saw a snow goose circled the lighthouse, she remembered about Philip. Immediately Fritha ran to the sea, but there was no sailing boat, the snow goose was alone. At that moment Fritha cried and she knew that she loved Philip, but she couldn't tell her feeling because Philip wouldn't come back again, he was dead. THE END

Then, as you can see the ending of the story was sad, but now I will make my ending version.

Time went by, after Philip went to France, Fritha was waiting for Philip, she decided to stay at the lighthouse and she kept praying for Philip's safety and healthiness. One day when she was standing on the door, she saw a snow goose circled the lighthouse she thought a while and said, "Oh my God, that was Philip", she ran to the sea and saw a sailing boat and it was Philip, he saved and came home. After Philip arrived at the beach, Fritha ran to him and immediately hugged him tightly she still not sure that it was Philip. Philip was shocked and he said, "Whaaa....what are you doing, Fritha?" Fritha kept silent and cried on Philip's shoulder, she missed him so much.

After she felt relieved and made sure that the man was Philip, Fritha said "Oh Philip, I'm glad to see you again..... and I...", "and what, Fritha," said Philip. Fritha stood in front of him and looked into his deep eyes and said "I love you, Philip" Philip was shocked and paused for a moment, but when he was aware there was no Fritha in front of him, Fritha left Philip alone on the beach, and she went to the lighthouse. Philip ran to her and shouted her name "Fritha... I love you too", suddenly Fritha stopped her walk and thought quietly, she shocked and when she turned around her body she saw Philip was running to her. He came to her and hugged Fritha tightly and said one more "I love you, Fritha", "Are you sure..., Philip?" answered Fritha, Philip nodded his head and then he said "I want to ask you something....", "What do you want to ask Philip" said Fritha, "Hm... will.. will you marry me, Fritha?" he said nervously, after a while of silence Frita said confidently "Yes, I will Philip", after that he suddenly she kissed Fritha for a while.

Fritha was shocked, and suddenly after Philip kissed Fritha, Philip was enveloped in smoke and when the smoke was gone, there was no Philip but a handsome man with a perfect appearance. "Wh..who are you, and where is Philip?" said Fritha and then the man answered "I'm Philip, Fritha and you are my true love," said Philip out loud. Fritha was still confused, but Philip asked her to go inside the lighthouse, there Philip told the true story of his life. So, when he was a baby there was an evil witch, and the witch didn't like Philip because he is too handsome, so he cursed Philip to become a disabled boy, and the cursed would be gone if Philip found his true love, and that was Fritha his true love. One month after that, they were married and lived together happily ever after. THE END

That was my imagination ending version, I'm sorry if I'm too exaggerating about the ending😅 but it was in my mind when I finished reading the story. What about you, do you prefer the author's ending or my ending version? please comment down below. That's all for this post, thank you for reading, and see you in the next post!!!🙋
